Nitro Canyon
★★★★☆ 4.2
Nitro Canyon is unapologetically arcade. You are not tuning gear ratios here; you are learning when to lift and when to slam the boost. The drift system is the heart of it, and chaining clean drifts to refill nitro feels fantastic once it clicks.
Controls default to tilt but you can switch to buttons, which I did immediately and never regretted. The tracks are built around sweeping desert canyons with shortcuts you have to earn by taking risks. Memorizing a track pays off big.
The car roster is small but each one handles noticeably differently. I spent most of my time with a twitchy lightweight that punished sloppy input, and that struggle was the point. It is a lap-chasing game at heart.
